lucky dragons :: make a baby

with the intentions of documenting, but no real idea of outcome, i attended the lucky dragons sound blanket show "make a baby" at machine project. armed with a digital video camera and a lavelier mic, footage of the blanket in use was taken as well as asking luke fishbeck, the artist, a handful of questions about the blanket and its function. the result, after editing, is a 5 minute documentary showing and explaining the "make a baby" project which uses a laptop, a blanket with circuit applique, and audience participation through touch to produce sounds/music.

op leven en dood

influenced by psychogeography and situationist texts, i traveled to prague and amsterdam for two weeks with a polaroid 690, a joycam, and 100 polaroids. wheat pasted posters were torn from various surfaces in both cities. the posters were chosen for their graphic appeal. each poster and polaroid taken were simply stuffed into a backpack without thought given to the final product. at the end of the trip, a used book was purchased, spine broken, pages taken out, and the process of collaging the polaroids and torn poster fragments began. the result is a 38 page book of memories that are not only represented through photographic image, but a physical remnant of the cities as well.

add-verbs

influenced by riding the metro for six years, the progression of los angeles street art during that time, and the over abundance of "lifestyle" advertising. What would happen if advertisements focused on the power of individual abilities rather than products? i located approximately 100 verbs which tend to promote a positive activity and began to illustrate each verb with the intention of advertising publicly ala wheat paste. the motto: add verbs (particularly the ones i chose) to your life.
